Jesus offers us the miracle of a full life, a miracle that touches persons open to his presence.  What is lacking is our confidence and faith for the miracle to take effect in our lives.

The sacrifice constitutes the new covenant established between God and the new people created by God's initiative. When they drink from the cup, the disciples share in all the benefits of the sacrifice and take their places as members of God's new covenant community
